After some disappointing years I must say 2010 has been mostly tremendous. Most of the widely heralded movies rang pretty empty for me--I'm looking at you The Social Network, Black Swan, Winter's Bone, etc--but once I dug deeper into the year I found some great works. So, without commentary here is my current top 10:

Best movies of the 1990's

Sure, why not. Let's start with 1990. I started really watching a lot of movies in the mid to late 90s, so these very early years of the decade I haven't necessarily seen *that* many movies. But this is only true of the very very early part of the 90s.

Apparently this is the best year for gangster flicks.
